reservations

going forward we sell breeeder-to-client by paid reservations only.
we will not be posting online to the general public as first come, first served and we will not have a free wait list for kids.

repeat clients and performance homes will be preferred and eagerly welcomed, but not mandatory.

Because we continue to heavily retain animals out of our breeding program, we often result in selling very few animals per year.
In the event that I decide to sell certain animals for any reason, I have the right to ensure that I place them in the best home that I can provide for them.

All animals born on our farm will be documented/photographed regardless where they go for our records sake and posted on the reference page.
Clients can use my photography as references without having to ask (as long as the proper credit is given & my watermarks are not taken off images).
I will do my best to keep documentation as up to date as humanely possible and frequently update this website for accurate reference.

Buyers will be required to:
• Provide prompt and thorough communication.
• Read and Sign our Sales Policy & Sales Contract before any money is exchanged.
• Buyer must be 18+ (if not, parental/guardian involvement is mandatory).
• Must be able to pickup personally or arrange and utilize transport within 1-2 weeks of sending deposit.
• Animals must be paid in full before leaving the property... No exceptions.
• Must send in a Reservation application form & provide Deposit to secure animal sales.
• Understand that we do not accept trades of any kind. We only accept payments of USD via cash, Zelle, or Paypal.

We will no longer have a free waiting list for kids.

Basics of Purchasing Goat kids:
• Unborn kids can be reserved with a deposit of $100, and it is deducted from the price of the kid once born.
In the event we retain kids or if the desired breeding does not yield available kids -- The deposit can be refunded, carried over to the next season, or transferred to another breeding (if viable kids are available from it). Please communicate thoroughly & promptly on which is desired.
• Visual assessment of a kid once it is born may result in a price alteration, however, a reservation and deposit will guarantee that the buyer will not pay more than the original advertised price.

...Purchasing Registered Bucklings:
• Any interest in bucklings should be sent via email before any kids are born. Intact Bucklings are wethered heavily making sales of them extremely limited.
• If you have reserved a buckling out of a specific breeding we provided reservations for, and we deem the buckling not suitable to be used for breeding, the animal will be sold as a wether. We will notify you, the buyer immediately if this is an outcome.
• Bucklings (intact, wethered, grade, and/or registered) MUST be claimed, under deposit, and picked up asap by 3 weeks old.
They will not be held back in consideration of sales. If they are still in our custody at 3-4 weeks of age they will be going to auction and any deposits will be forfeit due to failure of timely pickup.

Purchasing Adult animals:
• Applications do list an option for Senior & Adult animals, although these animals are not commonly available.
Any applications to request purchasing adult stock will be moved to a "stand by" list for consideration without deposit being required to reserve. Once animals are confirmed to be available, deposit will be required as specified by seller.
• We will never sell bred does, but do occasionally let go of open does or does who have kidded and are already in milk.
• Deposits made for these adult animals will be 1/2 of total price, and animals are not considered claimed without it.
• Once adult animals are listed here for sale, we move them as efficiently as possible, so contact us sooner rather than later if you're interested.

The prices of our animals are influenced by:
• Age, Sex, Quality of the animal being offered.
• Achievements of Dam, Sire, Siblings, and their immediate lineage.
• Disease testing routinely kept up to date & maintained on our herd.
• Our work & dedication to provide quality documentation of our herd (buyers can see/reference).
• Priority of that specific breeding to us.

Our rights as Seller & Breeder are as follows:
• We may Retain any goat for any reason at any time.
• Simply Dunn Farm reserves the right to make changes in the breeding lineup and schedule.
• We have the right to change prices after young animals are evaluated (those who are not under deposit).
• We will Officially give the animal's their pedigreed name as a result of our hard work and breedings.
• We can refuse to work with specific transporters if we've had issues previously with them.
• We can Decline and refuse sale at any time with the animal still in our care.

In our program we do our best to avoid buying or breeding animals with known genetic defects. However we understand defects can occur in breeding programs to some degree, as it is just the reality of nature.

We look over our herd's offspring diligently for anatomical and noticeable defects multiple times before they are ever sold and leave our care (we even check in front of the buyers at pickup). Extra teats and orifices can develop and pop up at later dates in life, just know we will not willingly nor knowingly sell animals with any defects.

A defect on our animal was detected, what now?:
Communication is key and so is cooperation with us as we do stand behind our animals. We ask that you contact us immediately first and foremost with private disclosure and discussion of the issue. In the instance that a genetic problem is found, the replacement will come in the form of another kid either from that year or the next year's season (of similar value) on REGISTERED stock only.
• We are not responsible for any extra fees related to the transportation/DNA/CVI fee of the replacement animal.
• Regardless of whether or not the buyer refuses a replacement animal, there will be no monetary refund.
• Replacements will be made when photos, videos, testing, & veterinarian/medical proof is provided.
• We MUST receive the legitimate registration of the effected animal(s) before any sort of replacement is considered and given... with the animal needing to be marked as sold without papers.
• This is NOT applicable to animals who were sold without registration, those are sold "as is".

Carpal Hyperextension (CH)
At this current time we cannot refund any animals that develop CH. We do not use animals with this ailment nor have we ever experienced a case of it so far with our adults and any of our young animals. While we personally do believe that this is mainly a genetic issue, there is not a completed study nor method of testing to isolate the cause and give us the definitive and final answer we need to declare it one. There are observations of it being genetic and there are also observations made that diet/minerals play a part of the ailment becoming onset, worsening, and/or improving. There are also observations of it being symptomatic as soon as "injuries" occur. With such a grey area within this issue, again, we are sadly unable to offer refunds.

Please note that our ethics are firm on this issue. We have a zero-tolerance policy and we deem it inhumane to showcase/breed/utilize animals who are crippled (not lame, as they often times never truly recover once symptomatic). If a goat is crippled with this ailment, it should be euthanized regardless of its mammary, milk production, or pedigree. Breed Betterment should prioritize the animal's health, longevity, genetic potential/impact first and foremost as the foundation for the future of the breed with everything else following suit.

To see any defects/issues experienced within our herd & kidding seasons, feel free to check our Genetics page!
